Stackable File system and Intrusion Detection system

In this article concepts pertaining to stackable file systems, virtual file systems, linux kernel, Intrusion Detection System have been discussed. We first discuss a little about Linux kernel and then move on to discuss various features of VFS and its primary objects, then we discuss Stackable Filesystems and layering techniques on three most popular operating systems; Solaris, FreeBSD and Linux, then we discuss various IDS technologies and their advantages and disadvantages follwed by discussion of I3FS and Storage Based IDS. Information from various sources has been incorporated in this article, as I am a newbie in this field I thought a collection of information from various sources explained in simple language would be helpful to some people.
